AWCON 2016:Super Falcons crush Mali "6-0"
The Super Falcons were in devastating form in their opening game of the African Women’s Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The Nigerian ladies thrashed Mali 6-0 in their Group B opener in Limbe on Sunday.
Arsenal ladies striker, Asisat Oshoala, was the star performer as she netted four goals while the duo of Francisca Ordega and Uchechi Sunday both added a goal each to secure the emphatic win.
Ordega put the Falcons in front on 21 minutes before Oshoala made it 2-0 before the end of the first half.
Sunday scored on 48 minutes for the Falcons to make it 3-0 from the penalty spot after Osaronoma Igbinovia was fouled inside the penalty box.
Oshoala then seized the show as she literally went on rampage; scoring in the 64th, 69th and 78th minutes to see off the faint hearted Malians.
The Falcons’ next game is against rivals Black Queens of Ghana on Wednesday and another big win should be enough to see them through to the next phase.
(lol, now this is news... He he he.. Fire on Falcons)
